What Islam Doesn’t Have

I have listened to quite a few lectures and news items to do with Islam. This in no way makes me an authority on Islam but it does make me realise that as a Christian I have a number of benefits and privileges the Muslim does not have.

By far the most important benefit the Christian has is a Saviour. This is Jesus the Christ or Messiah. This same Jesus is God, the God man. He came down to this earth took on human flesh, got his hands dirty, walked amongst His creation and got involved. You might say He is a personal Saviour. He bore my sins in His body on the cross and took my punishment – now that’s personal.

Not my Alms, not my Devotion, not my Submission but through the pure unadulterated Love of God and His totally free Grace does anyone become a Christian. Not of works lest any should boast. Christians rejoice in this Love and free Grace being totally undeserving of the least drop of it. Now that’s Good News. What good news (Gospel) can Islam bring to me as a poor sinner? It can’t.

My dear Muslim hear the words of Jesus:

Mat 11:28  Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

  1. Jesus was but a man, a Prophet. Nothing more. Nothing less. To associate him with God the Almighty, the Creator, is arrogance, ignorance and defying the truth: that God does not beget a son, daughter or anything else. He is the Creator: He does not need to lower Himself in His Majesty and Superiority and Divinity to something He created! Otherwise, such a god is not a God!

    I invite you to read:

    Matthew 3:16

And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him

    Matthew 4:10

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Why didn’t Jesus say “And Me only shall you worship?”

    Likewise

    Matthew 22:37

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

He did not say: Thou Shalt Love Me…

Most intriguing about the Bible is what Luke says:

It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

The current Bible, was written by men, regular men, who decided and/or took it upon themselves, to write whatever they thought.. regardless of the truth!

  2. Hello ATW,

Thank you for taking the time to read the post and leave a comment. I appreciate it.

If I may briefly reply. You will find in the following verse you first quote Matthew writes:

Mat 3:17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

Who is this Son, and what does this Son claim:

John 10:30 I and the Father are one.” Also,

Joh 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
Joh 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.

If Jesus is a prophet as you claim, then you need to hear what He is saying.

He does call for His disciples to love Him:

John 14:21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

Let’s face it we could continue to trade verses but you will have to deny the very scriptures you rely on to make your own claims. Even the Jews of His day knew precisely what Jesus was claiming but they didn’t believe it either. The person of Jesus Christ is exactly who He claimed to be. He is the only Saviour and The Saviour you need.

When I get round to it, my next post is going to be: We have a reliable Scripture. Watch this space.

    Kind Regards,

    Mike

  3. Mike,

Interesting reply. Don’t forget you’re reading a book that was translated by men as I stated earlier. Remember also that Aramaic and Hebrew are more powerful and rich than English: grammar, similes, etc. For example, the Father Dwells in Me (translation mind you) could mean that God inspired Jesus the same way He inspired Moses for example.

I do believe in Jesus. The Quran has a whole chapter on him and on Mary. Reading the translation is not as powerful as reading the original languages: meanings get lost and the translation is what the author then thought!

Yet you seem either fascinated with Islam or Muslims and ignore the Jewish faith. While Muslims believe in Jesus and honor him as a man and a prophet, and believe in his return, Jews despise him and believe he’s boiling in human excrement in hell – because, as they say, he’s a false Prophet.

You wouldn’t dare touch this topic, would you? You may be labeled an “anti-Semite.”

I’ll await your post and post a reply proving that the Scripture is unreliable.. and that’s by the admittance of those who revised the Bible.

  4. Hi Anon (ATW),

You said ‘You wouldn’t dare touch this topic, would you? You may be labeled an “anti-Semite.” ‘

The post isn’t about the Jews (but I’m sure you would like it to be). I would say what needed to be said, but I would like to think I’d say it honestly but graciously – whatever the topic.

    Catch you later,

    Mike

  5. Mike,

I don’t know why you call me Anon. Regardless, and I’m sorry to disappoint you, I couldn’t care less if you write about Jews or Buddhists! Many of you – Christian extremists – will attack a religion based on utter ignorance. You seem to be as ignorant about the Jewish faith as you are about Muslims.

    No disrespect intended.

  6. Hi im new to redeemed thought but i came to this website and stumbled across this post and thought i would add some input. how could i call myself a christian if i dont know the gospel of Christ for which i am saved…before i put what i will i will inform you ATW that i am an extremist, i am very extreme about my Lord and King Jesus Christ but i certainly condone attacking anyone but i do believe in calling a spade a spade if that is in fact what it is. ATW…not to insult your intelligence with all the love in me that i can muster, but if you read over the book of John specifically ( and its not just in the book of John) Jesus makes it clear that He is God in the flesh. you must ask yourself why did the Jews want to kill Jesus, and even more have Him hanged on a tree…if you read back in deuteronomy it says that anyone who blasphemes God or equates Himself with God is accursed and should be hanged on a tree…read John 8:58…Jesus implies that He is the same I AM in the old testament that appeared to Moses in a burning bush…you dont have to be a biblical expert or teacher in order to see that Jesus says He is God in the flesh…the Jews wanted to kill Him because He claimed to be God but now you must ask yourself this…is Jesus lying or is He really God in the flesh? reading back in the bible i dont recall any prophet calming the seas with a rebuke but Jesus did, i dont recall any prophet walking on water which is humanyl impossible but Jesus did, I dont recall any prophet raising anyone from the dead in His own power but Jesus did and theres more miracles that Jesus did that point to His diety as God in the flesh but even more…Jesus forgave sins or sinners and we both know only God can do that so ill ask you again…is Jesus a liar and a blasphemer or is He God as He claimed…before you make any argument i urge you to read through the gospels and may the same God who died on the cross for you and me open your eyes to see the gospel of Jesus Christ as it really is…please read romans 10:9-10! soli deo gloria!

  7. Hi ATW, I called you anon because I assume ATW is not your name. Please refer to House Rules.

Paul, The Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ is a wonderful thing – that’s because He is wonderful. Praise God.

  8. thank you mike and my prayers will be with you and your family as you continue the aiding in the nourishing of the body of Christ and bringing the lost back home to the one true God who gave Himself for His bride…Jesus Christ! love you brother!
